Why we design

Design is at the heart of everything we do at Significa, shaping how we connect with people, solve problems, and make an impact. Being design-led isn’t about creating visuals for their own sake; it’s about building with purpose, curiosity, and collaboration. We believe good design is never truly “done” — it’s always evolving, and that we grow alongside it.

Our work must always be driven by curiosity, big-picture thinking, and a commitment to deliver meaningful value for every end user. Without curiosity, there is no creativity.

As a designer here, you’re part of a team that approaches each project with adaptability, inclusivity, and strategic intent. We must always strive to create experiences that are accessible, impactful, and aligned with our values.

This is why we do it — to build work that grows with those it’s for and to make a real, lasting, positive difference as a team.

Design-led, not Designer-led

That last word of the paragraph above is important here. Team. It’s not on the Designer to create and bring to life a design, it’s on all of us. Being design-led means that we think before we create — that’s the same for designers as it is developers. That sounds obvious, but we’re not here to simply execute tasks or “pixel-push”. Every design decision you make serves a bigger purpose and aligns with Significa’s mission, to build the best digital products. By understanding the broader implications of our work, we can ensure that each project is designed and built on the foundation of Significa’s values, moving the project, our peers, and the company forward.

Curiosity, creativity, and balance

Being design-led is a continuous balancing act between creativity and curiosity. We respect patterns and usability principles, but we also bring curiosity and creative thinking to each project, pushing boundaries while keeping our work intuitive and user-centred. This balance is essential to creating solutions that are both functional and fresh, combining established design principles with innovative ideas that keep our work meaningful and adaptable.

Curiosity drives us to question the status quo, explore new possibilities, and continuously improve. We think critically about each choice, considering the impact of our decisions not only on the user but also on Significa’s broader vision. By keeping the big picture in mind, we design experiences that give people joy they didn’t know they needed.

E-motion

We believe that the web should never be boring. Our goal is to create experiences that are engaging, expressive, and deeply connected to the people who use them. This sense of “e-motion” drives us to make interactions feel meaningful and memorable, finding moments of delight and engagement that go beyond mere function. By bringing life and emotion to the digital space, we don’t just create utility; we create lasting impressions that bring joy. Joy is important.

This isn’t just your responsibility as a Designer, it’s everybody’s responsibility, as per The designer’s eye, therefore it’s essential that in Design there is no gatekeeping. As a designer, you must be open, invite feedback, questioning and curiosity towards your work as you should towards the work of others.

Accessibility and inclusivity

Accessibility and inclusivity are non-negotiable at Significa. To create meaningful experiences, we must design with clarity and inclusivity at every stage, ensuring that everyone can fully experience what we create. Accessibility influences everything from colour choices and readability to navigation and usability. By crafting inclusively, we make sure our work is approachable and valuable for all users. Again, your role as Designer is not exclusive in achieving truly inclusive Design, it’s the responsibility of all of ours.

Providing real value

Design with purpose, always considering how your work brings real value to the people who use it. Your work isn’t just for clients — it’s for the customers they serve, and it’s our job to make sure our designs provide meaningful solutions that truly make a difference. This customer-centred perspective is what drives our design decisions and ensures that every project contributes to a positive and impactful user experience. Designing with the end customer in mind allows us to craft experiences that feel intuitive, valuable, and aligned with Significa’s commitment to making positive impact.

Evolve with purpose

Being design-led means we don’t see design as a task to finish; we see it as an opportunity to make a lasting difference for the customer, and in turn, Significa. Each project contributes to something larger than itself, building toward Significa’s broader goals and evolving to adapt to new challenges. This approach means that no work is ever truly final — design at Significa is always evolving, growing with the people it’s for and adapting as needs change.

We’re committed to creating value that strengthens both our users’ experiences and Significa’s overall impact, keeping design relevant, adaptable, and deeply connected to our mission, to be the very best at what we do.
